Free Proxies Paused for Inactivity

Why idle free proxies are paused, how to get a fresh set back in one click, and what stays the same.

Why your free proxies are paused

The free plan has no end date. Its 3 proxies come from a shared pool, so when they carry no traffic for 30 days we pause them and return their addresses to the pool. Your account, your login and your proxy username and password are unchanged. We email you when it happens, and the Dashboard and Proxies pages show a banner.

Banner saying your free proxies are paused, with the Reactivate free proxies button.

Get them back in one click

  1. Open the Dashboard or the Proxies page.
  2. Click Reactivate free proxies on the banner.
  3. A fresh set appears on the Proxies page straight away.

The new proxies have different IP addresses, so update any configuration that names the old ones. Your proxy username and password stay the same, and so does your monthly allowance of 1 GB. The free set is HTTP(S) only, as before.

If no proxies appear, the banner is replaced by one that explains why, for example when this month's free bandwidth is already used. Nothing else needs to be done on your side; open a support ticket if the explanation does not fit your account.

What counts as use

Any request sent through your free proxies counts, from any client. The 30 days start when your current set was issued, so a set you have just reactivated gets the full period before it can be paused again. Accounts on a paid plan are not affected.

To keep a free set running, use it at least once a month. For a set that never pauses, more addresses, or SOCKS5, any paid plan starts right away. The rest of the free plan is described in the quick start guide.
