A Free Tier and a Referral Program

Every account now starts with working proxies at no cost, and referrals earn recurring commission on the customers they bring.

Two changes are live that affect how you try node4 and what you earn for recommending it. Both are short stories, told here without the padding.

The free tier

Every new account now provisions 3 free shared proxies with 1 GB/month bandwidth and 10 concurrent threads. No card is required and there is no trial clock counting down; the allowance simply renews monthly for as long as you want it.

These are real shared datacenter proxies on our own datacenter blocks, and both authentication modes work on them: a proxy credential for username-and-password access, and an IP whitelist slot for connecting bare from a registered address. If you have never chosen between those modes, the team-scale comparison lays out the trade-offs.

The intent is narrow and worth stating plainly. Before paying for proxy access, the only question that matters is whether these exits work against your target, with your tooling. No landing page can answer that. The free allowance exists so you can answer it yourself: point the proxies at the thing you actually need to reach, run a realistic batch, and look at the results. What the free tier is not: a production allocation. The bandwidth cap is deliberate and it stops at the cap rather than billing you past it. When your test convinces you, the pricing page shows what each paid plan lifts: more proxies, more bandwidth, more concurrency, and access to the other proxy types. Upgrading keeps your account, your credentials and your whitelist entries; nothing gets re-issued.

Getting started takes three steps: sign up, verify your email (proxies provision after verification, not before), and copy your credential or register your IP from the dashboard's Proxies page. If your first connection test fails with an authentication error, the 407 guide resolves nearly all of them quickly.

The referral program

The second change: recommending node4 now pays, recurringly.

From your dashboard you can generate a personal referral link. Anyone who signs up through it is attributed to you, and you earn a commission on their payments: not a one-time bounty on the first invoice, but a share of what they pay for as long as they remain a customer. Commission rates are tiered and grow with the size of the customer base you have referred.

The current rates, payout methods and program terms live on the affiliates page, and that page is the source of truth for them. Figures printed in a blog post go stale, so we keep them in exactly one place.

Who is this for? Anyone whose audience or colleagues have proxy problems: developers who write about scraping, agencies that set up data pipelines for clients, communities where "which provider?" comes up weekly. Because the commission recurs, a handful of referred customers who stay compounds into meaningful ongoing income. The program is designed to reward sending people who genuinely stick around, not drive-by clicks.
