How to choose, and what happens at the limit
What follows is what each plan does when you reach its limit, and how to size against the two numbers that differ: the gigabytes you move in a month, and the connections you hold open at the same time.
- Rotating Datacenter, at the limit:
- Nothing is billed for overage you did not ask for: access pauses at the cap until you top up or the period renews, unless you have switched auto top-up on.
- Rotating Unmetered, at the limit:
- A new connection is refused while every connection your size allows is already open. The ones already running are not interrupted, so you close some or move up a size.
A concurrent connection is one connection open at a given moment. It is not an IP address, not a number of requests per month, and not a promised rate of requests per second. Size against your peak rather than your average.
Which one fits depends on both numbers, so start from the data you expect to move in a month and the highest number of connections you expect to hold open at once. If your data fits a Rotating Datacenter size, that plan prices it and your connection count is not part of the bill. If it does not, or you would rather not watch a meter at all, Rotating Unmetered drops the byte limit and asks you to size the connection count instead. Neither is the better buy in general: they limit different things. This is guidance for sizing a plan, not a claim about speed or about success on any particular target.

Compare unmetered dedicated against per-GB rotationYour rate starts at 30% above what you already pay per GB, rounded up to the cent. Shared datacenter is sold per proxy rather than by the gigabyte, so it tops up at a fixed floor rate instead. Larger top-ups may earn a volume discount, subject to your plan’s minimum rate. You see the exact price before you buy.
Suggested sizes are scaled to your monthly allowance, or name any whole number of gigabytes up to a ceiling your plan size sets. Your included data and any top-ups last for the current billing period. Unused data does not roll over.
Switch it on and we add bandwidth automatically when usage reaches a threshold you choose (90% by default), capped at a number of charges you set. It is off unless you turn it on. It is a setting on your account rather than on one plan, so if you cancel a plan while it is on, it can still buy a pack until your paid access ends.
